Eugène Samuel Grasset

Born to a decorator and sculptor father, Eugène Grasset studied drawing with François Bocion, then architecture at the Polytechnicum in Zurich, from 1861. At the end of his studies, in 1866, he visited Egypt, where we finds inspiration in his later works. He was also an admirer of Japanese art, which influenced many of his works from 1871 onwards.
